Birkenhead bus station

Last year one of our biggest campaigns was against cuts in services by local bus companies. Now Merseytravel is reviewing bus services in the Wirral. There were a few public meetings but they’ve all gone – but the good news is that there is a survey that you can fill in here. It only takes a couple of minutes (I know because I’ve done it) and apart from asking about your use of the local buses it gives you a chance to give your own view about the service and how it could be improved.

Bearing in mind that last year local -privatised- bus services services that went to Arrowe Park were being cut at the same time as the NHS was wanting to close the walk in centre at Mill Lane and make more people go to Arrowe Park (we were a part of the successful campaign to stop that particular crazy idea) it would be a good idea if we had a co-ordinated transport policy for Merseyside – based on community needs not the profits of private bus companies. Just like they’ve had in London for years.

The survey closes on 12 Feb so hurry up or you’ll miss the bus boom! boom!
